Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger have split ... the only issue is whether it's temporary or permanent.
Multiple reports are confirming the obvious ... after dating for five months, they're each off on their own again.
It looked like Miley had shaken off Patrick's partying in Cabo during Spring break from USC, but it was only temporary.
He was at Coachella alone and she's been doing her thing at various events over the last week or so.
It seems pretty amicable, but remember ... just a month ago they were out at The Palm restaurant with Maria Shriver and had even talked about getting hitched.
There's another possibility for the breakup ... Miley's appearance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony over the weekend. Raise your hands if you agree.
